Superannuation
Most employees, including casual employees, are entitled to receive a superannuation payment from an employer in addition to wages. The general rule is that the amount payable by an employer must be at least nine per cent of the employee’s earnings base. As of 1 July 2008 the base used is ordinary time earnings. For more information, speak to your union or visit the Australian Tax Office.
