Returning to Earning grants

The Victorian Government’s Returning to Earning grants provide up to $1000 per person to help parents increase their work skills and job prospects. These funds can be used to cover any costs associated with approved training, such as books and materials, course fees, transport and child care.

You are eligible for a grant if you:

  • have been absent from education, accredited training and the workforce for two years while caring for children*
  • are currently unemployed and wish to return to work, preferably in the next 12 months
  • have not worked for more than four months full-time, or equivalent part-time, in the last two years
  • are an Australian resident living in Victoria
  • will enrol in training to improve your workforce skills and/or earning potential
  • have not received a grant under the program Parents Returning to Work

Go to the Returning to Earning website to find more information and to apply online.

It’s a great opportunity to get the financial help you need to begin retraining.

*Accredited English Language training is an exception to this condition
